Victory To The MDC

On the fly, as I'm running out to actually meet people and do things in the actual physically-extensive world for a change.

Amidst all the excitement and speculation about Bolivia, I want to take a moment of solidarity with the Zimbabwean opposition, who have started a two-day general strike today in response to the recent brutal crackdowns by Mugabe's none-more-psychotic regime, and who are in serious danger of getting their heads kicked in by the police, who have promised to deal 'ruthlessly' with any street protests. These are brave, desperate people, tens of thousands of whom have been baselessly arrested and a few hundred thousand had their homes and livelihoods demolished. I fear very much a bloodbath is in the offing, as Mugabe's repeatedly shown how much he cares for the survival of his impoverished, brutalized people.
